Who We Are

Kashmir Family Aid is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Bend, Oregon.

Our primary goal is to counter poverty in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir by providing secular education to quake-affected children.

Our main objectives:

*Seek solid corporate sponsors.

*Secure donations from the West through media dispatches, group presentations and sustaining contributors.

*Recruit volunteers to go to Pakistan and Azad Kashmir with us to meet the children and act as goodwill emissaries.

*Lobby city of Bend officials to name Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir, as a “Sister City.” The two cities have many common traits, including size, beautiful surrounding mountains and forests, rivers rushing through town centers and futures based on a clean and environmentally-friendly tourist trade. We are also working with Azad Kashmir officials to recognize Bend as its own exclusive Sister City.

Our general operating principles:

*Integrity: We will abide by all local, state, federal and international laws.

*Transparency: We have bullet-proof methodologies for making sure the money you donate is spent exactly how we promised. We always allow donors to follow their money and see how it is spent. We will open books to anyone that asks and post photos of people receiving funds on our Web site.

*Accuracy: We will provide accurate and consistent information. We will double-check everything before release. If anybody points out an inaccuracy or inconsistency, we will immediately investigate and correct errors.

*No politics, no religion: We are not tied to any political or religious cause.
